Let it Snow by Xavi Burde

Flowers wither, flowers bloom.
Thus I rise. Speak your wish.
I was told life is like the seasons,
an infinite cycle.
Yet somewhere along the way,
my world was reduced
to fields of frozen white.
The seasons turn,
the heavens bless.
Now I offer this dance.
We pray for warmth, that life may rise.
We pray for rain to cleanse the long night.
We pray for moonlight to guard the harvest.
A thousand prayers
and wishes for my life,
traded for a song of peace.
Still, the dark ones never stay slain.
The thousand futures I have saved.
Demanding this body.
Demanding this life.
One life, two lives,
a thousand lives without end.
If the gods offer no aid,
I shall end my line.
My wish is here
amidst endless white,
the flaming red kindles new life.
When these wishes find their dawn,
it shall be the spring that waited
beneath snow.
