A Moment at the Beach by Quinn Barnowski

Five kids step outside to talk,

Head to the beach for a walk.

Life is loud and we just need some quiet.

She speaks and I stay silent,

We walk together,

A private conversation just for two.

Summer sky turns gray,

Clouds reflecting off the ocean waves.

She smiles as raindrops hit her hand.

Her bare feet slapping against the sand,

She runs as rain bleaches color from the sky,

And I follow.
